SGFCO Outings

"Outings" are events organized by SGFCO. These are open to the public and usually free. They're a great way to hang out with friends and make new ones. Unless otherwise stated, participation in events is assumed to be 18+.

Past Events:

June 27th: Kickball Outing, Cobras vs. Route 66ers

Join us for the first matchup between the Springfield Cobras and the Route 66ers. Shop up at the big field behind the Perry Tennis Courts and you'll be assigned a team and lent a jersey for the match. Spectators of all ages are welcome

July 12: Ice Cream Social Cycling Club

Meet at Cherry Picker at 6:45PM. Five mile ride at a recreational pace. Route will go through downtown and along the Jordan Valley creek before returning to Cherry Picker. Ice cream available for purchase from Culture Counter after. Free toppings provided by SGFCO.

July 28: Springfield Cardinals vs. Frisco Roughriders (All Ages)

After how fun our last baseball outing was, this was a no-brainer. On July 28th, our Springfield Cardinals face off against the Frisco Roughriders. Tickets are limited and are available for purchase here. Every ticket includes a Springfield Cardinals hat that will be delivered at the game. For an extra $5, get a custom SGFCO foam finger.

July 30: SGFCO Movie Night at The Moxie (All Ages)

We've negotiated a private showing of this summer's biggest thrill: Marcel the Shell With Shoes On. July 30th, 5:30PM at The Moxie, Springfield's nonprofit arthouse theater. Purchases of our Marcel Cinematic Universe sticker will each include a free ticket to the show. Tickets will be available at the door as availability allows, but you won't get a limited edition sticker.

Springfield Cardinals vs Wichita Wind Surge

September 1: Springfield Cardinals vs. Wichita Wind Surge (All Ages)

Our friends at Celebrate Springfield kindly gave SGFCO 30 tickets for their kickoff event at Hammons Field. We aim to be the loudest, proudest, rowdiest fans in the stadium. Tickets are free and first come first serve. Tickets are limited to two per person.

September 26th: Kickball Outing, Cobras vs. Route 66ers

The Cobras and 66ers will face off again Monday, September 26. 5:30PM at the field by Gerald Perry tennis court. If you have a jersey, bring it and that’ll be your team. If you don’t have a jersey, we can lend you one when you get here and assign your team to you. Want to come watch? Perfect. Wear your team’s colors to show your allegiance.

Liberation Tattoo Pop Up
November 12 11AM-7PM

Join us at Liberation Tattoo for a one day tattoo pop up event. Marshall and Jerika have prepared an incredible lineup of original art inspired by our favorite Springfield folklore, figures, and flavors. Appointments will be first come, first serve and must be placed in person on the day of. We’ll be hanging out in the shop all day with some merch on hand.

Feb 17: Lady Bears Outing

Join us to see Missouri State's Lady Bears basketball team play against the Murray State Racers. SGFCO purchased a block of tickets, so friends of SGFCO will all be in the same place. Bring some friends and make some new ones. The goal? Bring home a W and be the loudest, proudest fans in the arena. 

SGFCO Bowl Your Brains Out Promo Image

March 13th: Bowl Your Brains Out @ Sunshine Lanes

For our March outing, we're returning to Sunshine Lanes for our second Bowl Your Brains Out event. Feel free to bring friends with you and plan to make some new ones. All you can bowl for $8 per person, paid at the bowling alley.

April 22nd: As Good As Any Beer Launch Party

We're proud to introduce to As Good As Any Beer. Brewed by Great Escape Beer Works to SGFCO's exacting specifications. It's lighter than most craft beers and tastes better than all the macros. It's the perfect beer to order when you know you'll be having a few and the kind of brew you'll want to bring home to load the beer fridge.

DJ Cal will be spinning country classics, El Sabor de Mexico will be serving tasty food, and we'll be pouring a beer so refreshing, delicious, and crushable, you’ll declare it as good as any. Limited crowlers will be available for purchase.

May 6th: Cornhole Tournament at Best of Luck

Join us for a twelve team cornhole tournament at Best of Luck Beer Hall. Games begin at 2PM. Register to compete or come hang out for free. Food specials: Cornbrats, Fried Corn, and As Good As Any Beer on tap.

June 2nd: Ice Cream Social Cycling Club

July 6th: Springfield Cardinals vs. Amarillo Sod Poodles (All Ages)

On July 6th, our Springfield Cardinals face off against the Amarillo Sod Poodles. Tickets are limited. Purchase tickets here. For an extra $5, get a custom SGFCO foam finger. First 15 tickets receive a free foam finger.

October 14th: The Coffee Ethic's Night of Pourers

Join us at The Coffee Ethic at 6PM for their Night of Pourers, a latte art throwdown. Come see your favorite baristas go head to head in a series of harrowing challenges designed to test their skills of milk and espresso. If you’re a barista looking to compete, get in touch with Coffee Ethic ASAP since space is limited. Cover is $5 and funds go to Springfield Black Tie.

April 19th: Jubilee with Ellie Schmidly and Brian Bulger

Enjoy performances by Ellie Schmidly, Brian Bulger, and Wesley in an intimate environment.
